Waywayseecappo First Nation is conveniently located right on Highway 45 in the Birdtail Valley west of Rossburn, just a few miles away from the south-western corner of Riding Mountain National Park. Highway 45 links Highway 16 at Russell and Highway 10 at Erickson. Highway 45 is used as an alternate route for tourists travelling to and from the numerous camping, fishing and recreational areas located on the southern edge of the Park. The Waywayseecappo First Nation is located less than ninety kilometres away from Clear Lake.

The Waywayseecappo First Nation Business Centre did not exist prior to 1992. In less than 10 years, the Waywayseecappo First Nation built an impressive economic entity.

• The first business to open was the Wayway Gas Bar and Convenience Store.
• 1993 the Wayway Food Mart opened it doors
• 1993 the opening of the Gaming Centre.
• 1996 the Arena complex was built.
• 1997 West Region Child and Family Services local office was opened.
• 1998 a Daycare facility opened.
• 1999 on Sept 25th, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League played their first game.
• 2001 a local detachment of the DOPS Dakota Ojibwa Police Services opened
